Djokovic’s „rebellion“ against ABNORMAL conditions at Australian Open (VIDEO)
One of the strongest tennis tournaments, the Australian Open, is taking place, for the first time under strict quarantine conditions, and some players are in complete self-isolation, which bothered the first-ranked player in the world, Novak Djokovic.
Tennis players are preparing for the Australian Open in abnormal conditions.
Some are in complete self-isolation and they are not allowed to leave the hotel room, while some have a few hours during which they can go out to train.
The Spanish tennis magazine Punto de Break states that Djokovic started a kind of rebellion at the Australian Open and he demands the same conditions for all the participants in the first Grand Slam.
Djokovic allegedly wrote a letter to director of the tournament, Craig Tiley, in which he stated the requirements that he wanted to be fulfilled.
Punto de Break reports that he is asking the following from Tiley:
– Fitness and training equipment in all the rooms
– Reduction of days in isolation, if the players test negative
– Permission to visit the head or fitness coach, and the possibility for them to be accommodated on the same floor in the hotel
– Transfer of as many players as possible to private houses with tennis courts
Nevertheless, Novak can leave the room, but despite that, the first tennis player in the world has the will to joke with fans.
Some of them recognized him on the balcony and called for him, and he replied with a smile:
„Set us free“!
