CNN recommends 11 destinations in Serbia

The US television network CNN announced on its web portal a mini report on Serbia with the recommendation of 11 destinations that tourists should visit in Serbia.

In addition to a series of photographs, CNN recommended passengers, among others, to visit Belgrade, Novi Sad, Subotica, Tara mountain and Studenica Monastery.

The first on the list of destinations is Belgrade, and CNN describes it as „a dynamic capital that lies at the mouth of the Sava and the Danube“. It is also added that Belgrade has „unmistakable“ energy, especially when it comes to nightlife and „culture of cafes“.

CNN is among the most interesting locations in the Serbian capital, Dorcol, claiming it is one of the most attractive parts of the city, along with Knez Mihajlova, Skadarlija and Savamala.

On the list of Serbian locations recommended for tourists, a walk through Zemun and a holiday in one of its many cafes and restaurants, as well as Novi Sad, were found.

Novi Sad, called „Serbian Athens“, was recommended as a cultural and educational center. A tour of the Freedom Square, City Hall, Roman Catholic Church and Petrovaradin Fortress is a must.

CNN recommends Subotica, its architecture and Hungarian tastes and ambience, as well as the natural beauty of Kopaonik, Zlatibor, Tara and Fruska Gora.

The Devil’s Valley also found itself on the list of interesting locations as „an unusual natural phenomenon“ worth seeing.

On the list there is Drvengrad, Zlatibor, as an „eccentric ethno-village“, similar to that from the 19th century, and the Šargan eighth.

Among the most attractive tourist sites were the Studenica Monasteries, located on the UNESCO heritage, and CNN states that it is one of the most magnificent monasteries in Serbia.

Tourists are also recommended to see some of the Serbian music festivals, such as Exit or Guca.
