Businessmen, bureaucracy will spare you as of October

Implementation of the largest number of provisions of the new Companies Law, recently adopted by the Serbian Assembly, will begin as of October 1.

Assistant Minister of Economy Dusan Vuckovic, while talking about new legal solutions for companies, said that novelties in the law rectified numerous problems concerning business of the commercial sector in Serbia.

Furthermore, changes are in accordance with our country’s obligations and in accordance with negotiating position of Chapter 6, to take over and implement regulations of the European Union in our legal system.

The most important amendments to the law include, according to Vuckovic, specification of provisions concerning the use of seals in business and abolition of regulations that stipulated obligations to use seal in certain business activities between companies and public administration bodies.

„Over 100 regulations that have stipulated the use of seals in business activities have been annulled,“ says Vuckovic.

He says that these amendments to the law will enable the use of electronic, qualified signature instead of notarization of signatures on company’s founding documents, thus creating significant savings as well.

The introduction of e-signature allows everyone to register businesses companies from home.

On the other hand, he explains, an obligation has been introduced for all companies to register their email address within one year from the day this law enters into force. “Registration of email address does not cost, it is free of charge, thus there is no increase in costs to the economy,” Vuckovic says.
