Belgrade SUBSIDIZES purchase of bicycles with RSD 5,000
Councillors of the Assembly of the City of Belgrade will vote today for the Program of subsidies for the purchase of bicycles, said Goran Vesic, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade.
The city allocates RSD 10 million for subsidies
„If the councillors adopt this decision, the City of Belgrade will set aside ten million dinars for subsidies for the purchase of domestically produced bicycles. This year, two thousand of our fellow citizens will be able to use this subsidy. This decision continues the reforms in the field of environmental protection, through more active involvement of civil society organizations and consistent application of European Union regulations, one of whose priority goals is to connect citizens, civil sector and public administration,“ said Vesic.
Novi Sad and Nis were the first in Serbia to provide assistance for the purchase of bicycles in order to reduce air pollution and increase traffic safety.
The subsidy for the purchase of bicycles in Novi Sad, which will be awarded to citizens on the basis of a public call, will amount to RSD 10,000 per person. The project of awarding subsidies in the total amount of eight million dinars will be implemented by the association selected by the city commission at the competition.
