Balcony of unusual DESIGN „STICKS OUT“ on a building in centre of Belgrade (PHOTO)
It is well known that residential buildings in the old part of Belgrade look nice mostly on the outside, i.e. in parts that face the city streets, while the back walls, overlooking the courtyards or parking lots, are often derelict and neglected. However, occasionally, an enthusiast shows up and at least in part „deviates“ from this common practice in the old part of the city.
While the facades of the old buildings in the inner city core are mostly well designed and renovated, the back parts paint a completely different picture.
Passers-by taking a walk in the city centre cannot see the yards and parking lots that are hidden from view behind the beautifully designed facades. These sights usually present a completely different image than the one seen from the main streets: often dilapidated, or at least unsightly and neglected walls and balconies, mostly seen in films or if one by chance „strays“ into a passage in the city centre.
However, one resident of Belgrade has departed from this manner and on the corner of Kralja Milana and Resavska streets he made a real mini photo exhibition on the balcony of photographs depicting precisely the old part of the city. The freshly painted wall with neatly arranged framed photographs of old Belgrade is a slightly unusual balcony „design“, but it certainly stands out in a unique manner from other neighbouring balconies and walls of the back part of the building.
