A new case: Chinese man in Serbia has a coronavirus
A second case of coronavirus in Serbia, this time with a Chinese national, has been confirmed. The website Covid19.rs reported that yet another person was found to be infected with the coronavirus. To date, a total of 101 individuals have been tested at the national reference laboratory of the Torlak Institute, who met the criteria of the case definition. Samples of six more individuals who were negative for the new coronavirus were tested today. The first case was recorded on March 6th in Subotica, with a man from Backa Topola. His condition is stable. As far as is known, the coronavirus might cause mild flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle pain and fatigue. In severe cases, severe pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, and septic shock can occur, which can cause death of the patient. People with chronic illnesses are more susceptible to more severe forms of the disease. There is no cure for covid-19 yet, and scientists are testing vaccines to help protect against the virus.
