SCC: Higher milk purchase price and regular payment of subsidies encourage production

„State aid is reflected in the regular payment of subsidies, while dairies in Serbia have significantly raised the purchase price of raw milk,“ Budimovic said.

The regular payment of subsidies and the higher purchase price of raw milk, according to Secretary of the Association for Livestock Breeding and Processing of Livestock Products of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), Nenad Budimovic, contributed to the stabilization of the entire domestic market.

He pointed out that thanks to these incentives, the milk market had been functioning completely normally for some time and that no major oscillations should be expected when it came to supply and prices, the SCC said.

He added that the aid distributed to livestock farmers helped stabilise production.

State aid is reflected in the regular payment of subsidies, while dairies in Serbia have significantly raised the purchase price of raw milk, Budimovic said.

As he explained, Imlek is at the forefront of this.

Imlek pays more for a litre of milk than the average milk price in the European Union (EU). Budimovic also recalls that the average price of milk in the EU is about 0.57 euro cents.
