Retailers in Serbia to get one or two non-working Sundays a month?
Retailers in Serbia will likely have one or two non-working Sundays a month, if there is no option for every Sunday, according to the Confederation of Autonomous and Independent Trade Unions (ASNS). The final position of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications regarding the requests of the trade union to ban work in stores on the last day of the week will be revealed in early February, ASNA’s President, Ranka Savic, said for the Blic website. Savic said that the unions had a „good meeting“ with Minister Rasim Ljajic last week, adding that the Ministry of Trade was prepared to fulfill the trade union’s requests in a certain way. „In early February, the ministry should reveal its position and we will know then if stores will be closed on the first Sunday of the month at first, or on the first and last, and there are some other possible options. In any case, the adopted model will be valid for all retailers – local and foreign,“ Savic explained.
