Representatives of trade unions: The Government makes work of the Social and Economic Council pointless

Representatives of trade unions in the Social and Economic Council (SES) have stated that Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and representatives of the Ministry of Finance behave frivolously when it comes to activities of that Council, as they have not been attending sessions of that body for a long time.

„There are two ways to end such frustration – either we will stop expecting something from SES or we will say what we want during street protests,” President of the Trade Union Confederation “Nezavisnost” Zoran Stojiljkovic has stated at the press conference following SES session.

He has stated that proposals approved by the SES must be adopted at a faster pace, because „it seems that a messenger pigeon is transferring information from us to Prime Minister Brnabic“, although she insists on digitization.

President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia Ljubisav Orbovic has said that the Prime Minister ignores SES sessions and begs the question whether it is pattern similar to the National Alliance for Local Economic Development.

President Aleksandar Vucic, while being Prime Minister, attended important sessions of SES and Ivica Dacic attended them as well, Orbovic has said.

Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic has announced that Brnabic will be invited to themed sessions of SES.

Djordjevic has said that recently elected Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali is absent because he is on a business trip, but this is an exception, thus he will continue to attend SES sessions, as he was present at the previous session.
