AN EXPLANATION AND AN APOLOGY: Cracks are NORMAL, rehabilitation at its end

On the southern end of Corridor 10, on the section from Caricina dolina to the „Manajle“ tunnel, rehabilitation of cracks on the surface layer of asphalt is coming to an end. Defects were noticed in three places where asphalting was interrupted due to bad weather conditions, the enterprise „Integral inzenjering“, that worked on that section, explains. The rehabilitation that costs RSD 450,000 is at contractors’ expense. The supervisory body points out that this is not a major problem, and rehabilitation is being carried out during workdays, when traffic is of lower intensity. „I would like to apologize for these circumstances that happened on the field, and „Integral inzenjering“ is currently working on rehabilitation of cracks on this section, in three places. The final part will be completed today.“ As I explained, we paved the wearing course that is four centimetres thick during rainy period in May 2018. This does not mean that we asphalted the road during rain, as we stopped asphalting once the rain began and we have several places where asphalting continued, representative of the contractor Darko Milovanovic pointed out.
