Hotels in Serbia will LOSE 230 million euros

Hotels in Serbia will lose the revenue of around 230 million euros between March 12th and June 30th, of which those in Belgrade will lose around 130 million, due to the coronavirus pandemic and interrupted influx of guests. Georgi Genov, Director of the Business Association of Hotel and Restaurant Industry, has stated with the Beta agency today that 2,130,000 accommodations had been cancelled in hotels in that period, of which 933,000 accommodations were in Belgrade, while around 60 percent of travel packages were cancelled worldwide. „There will be no foreign guests in tourism until a vaccine is found, thus hotel owners will have to turn to domestic guests,“ Genov has said. He has pointed out that „hotel industry“ is an economic branch that has been struck the most and including the winter season it has no income for months and does not know how to keep workers in permanent employment.
