Zlatibor Gold cable car is in the fourth phase of construction and it is planned to be put into operation by the end of the year, said director of Cajetina-based public company Bojana Bozanic. She recalled that nine kilometres of the air route of the Zlatibor cable car, which is the world record in terms of route length, would connect the centre of Zlatibor with the Ski Center Tornik above Ribnica Lake. Bozanic said that, in cooperation with the French company Pomagalski, the entire installation was done in accordance with the highest standards of environmental protection and she stated that the cable car would have a capacity of 600 passengers per hour in 55 separate cabins with ten seats each. „The maximum capacity of the cable car will be 90 cabins and a thousand passengers, and driving in the cable car will provide 25 minutes of incredible views of the picturesque landscapes of Zlatibor,“ said Bozanic. She added that partners from France would train workers and monitor the commissioning of the cable car and that the trial operation would last from four to nine weeks. In terms of the route length of nine kilometres, the route of Zlatibor Gold cable car will be the longest in the world, and before its construction the longest cable car route was in China, with a length of 7.4-kilometers in the national park of Zhangjiajie, where the cult film Avatar was shot.
