Trade unionists of Resavica dismissed because of „trade union activities“
Deputy President of the Trade Union of Miners at the Public Enterprise for Underground Coal Exploitation Resavica, Svetislav Stojkovic, has said that he and the secretary of that trade union, Dragan Radojkovic, received termination of the employment contract, because the employer accused them of informing the workers about „union activities“ during the working hours.
„We have been warning Acting Director of Resavica Marko Vukovic for a while that he is obliged to provide the trade union with work space, and the inspectorate also warned him of this.
After warning us about carrying out trade union activities during working hours, he dismissed us,“ Stojkovic said.
Stojkovic also pointed out that „the director removed information in which the trade union informed the workers about harmful compensations, the purchase of expensive cars and the procurement of unnecessary machines from the notice board“.
He added that he would file a criminal complaint because, as he says, that trade union has evidence that the director is consciously violating the Labor Act by refusing to provide them with work space. Stojkovic said that he and Radojkovic were shift supervisors in Resavica.
