Croatia leases tourist facilities of Serbian companies
Croatian Minister of State Property Goran Maric has said that Croatia has not initiated the sale of someone else’s property, as the neighbouring countries did, and that the new Law on State Property Management is the best solution, as it allows the disputed property to be leased without affecting ownership rights.
In relation to the announced lawsuits from Serbia and BiH regarding the property to which they have ownership rights, Maric says that the law allows it to be leased.
„This does not affect ownership rights or ownership relations, and no one can put a mortgage on this land and on those deserted and neglected properties, but it is unacceptable that such a situation has lasted for 28 years, jeopardising the health and safety of people,“ he said.
