Jorgovanka Tabakovic remains the Governor of the NBS

The Serbian Parliament has re-elected Jorgovanka Tabakovic as the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS).

142 MPs voted in favour of the re-appointment of Jorgovanka Tabakovic as the Governor of the NBS, six MPs voted against it and no one abstained from voting.

By the majority of votes of all the MPs, the National Parliament elected Jorgovanka Tabakovic as the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia.

As the Vice Governor, the MPs elected Zeljko Jovic, who received 142 votes of the MPs, two of the MPs abstained, and no one voted against him. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic proposed to the Serbian Parliament that Jorgovanka Tabakovic should continue to assume the office of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia in the next six-year term.

In his explanation of the proposal, Vucic said that she was recommended by the results she achieved, primarily in preserving macroeconomic stabilization in cooperation with the Government of Serbia and other competent institutions, with full coordination of the monetary and fiscal policy.
