Kosovo’s import tax on Serbian goods is no longer 10 percent, it is now 100

The Government of Kosovo adopted decision at the proposal of the Minister of Trade and Industry Endrit Shala to increase import tax on Serbian goods from 10 to 100 percent.

Web portal Koha.net reported that Shala’s proposal was backed up by Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj and that the Government of Kosovo adopted this decision by majority vote. Portal reported that Haradinaj said that CEFTA agreement between Kosovo and Serbia has not been functioning for some time.

“Since that is the case, I support this proposal,” Haradinaj said at session of the Government of Kosovo.

In the explanation of proposal of the decision to increase tax to 100 percent, Minister of Trade and Industry of Kosovo said that he had in mind analyses of the department of trade in that ministry.

„Producers from Kosovo are facing various non-tariff barriers by Serbia, thus products from Kosovo cannot enter Serbian market. Serbian authorities do not recognize analyses by producers from Kosovo and demand reassessment of those products. The question of transit also remains a serious obstacle for Kosovo based companies as they import or export to countries of the EU and pass through Serbian territory,” Shala said.

He also stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina has the same trade barriers towards Kosovo as Serbia.

Two weeks ago, the Government of Kosovo imposed a 10 percent tax on products from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina that are imported to Kosovo.

Rediculious, no better way than this conduct to trigger a literal war. Expelling trouble makers. Then they cry for foreign intervention because the big bad Serb government reacted. ( In the west we call that one a Jewish play) No surprise, Isreal has been coaching Albania. The monster disguised as the poor victim.
