EUR4.5 million for employment coming from the EU

Thanks to additional funds from the European Union, more than 3,000 citizens will be included in training programs, self-employment and opening of new jobs during next year, the “Politika” daily reports.

In addition to these activities, the National Employment Service (NES) will also continue to organize labour market training, i.e. for scarce occupations, among them being, traditionally, IT experts, construction workers and caterers, carpenters, locksmiths and welders.

All these programs will be realized through the project „Support to the Employment Program“, which is financed by the EU with around EUR4.5 million and co-financed by Serbia from the budget with around EUR500.000. The project is intended for people who find it difficult to obtain a job, and besides improvement of NES training programs, it should also contribute to improvement of measures and services for hiring people with disabilities, promote professional rehabilitation in enterprises for employment of that particular group of citizens. As explained earlier by Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi, the EU has set aside EUR4.5 million for implementation of the project aimed at supporting employment policy in Serbia.
