Dairy farmers have two requests for minister
President of the Association of Milk Producers from Banat, Vukasin Bacina, has said that they will request the introduction of quotas for milk import and a minimum purchase price of 80 dinars per liter at the talks with Minister of Agriculture Jelena Tanaskovic on February 1.
He told Beta that they would also ask Tanaskovic to increase the milk premium from the current RSD 10 to RSD 20.
The list of demands also includes extending the agreements on the lease of state land by ten more years.
Bacina said that processors were reducing the price of milk and that Mlekoprodukt from Zrenjanin, to which he sells milk, reduced the purchase price of milk from RSD 70 to RSD 50 dinars in the first 15 days of January.
Bacina said that domestic dairy producers were selling that product for nothing, while livestock feed was too expensive due to last year’s drought and there was not enough of it.
