When will we know how many of us there are and whether the unlisted will pay the fines?

The census in Serbia has been completed, and the first preliminary results will be published in mid-December, the representatives of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS) announced.

As Assistant Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia for the Social Statistics Sector Snezana Lakcevic told BIZLife , the first preliminary results are expected one month from the last listed inhabitant and then we will know the number of persons, households and apartments listed, by municipalities and cities.

The final results of the census will be published successively, starting in April next year.

„At that time, data on the number of inhabitants by national affiliation, age and sex, educational characteristics, marital status, economic activity, as well as data on the number and structure of households, families, housing fund… will be published,“ Snezana Lakicevic said.

In addition to the books of census and tables that will be available on the website of the Statistical Office, it is planned to also do special thematic studies, says Snezana Lakcevic.

The publication should be completed by mid-2024.

In addition, special processing of census data is planned, according to user requirements.

Those who did not take full advantage and were not listed are now wondering whether they will pay a fine of 20,000 to 50,000 dinars. The Statistical Office says that the Misdemeanour Court will issue a verdict and impose a sentence only on those who refused to give data to the census taker.
