Residents of Belgrade, GET READY: Vesic announces NEW WORKS in city centre
As a guest on the morning program on the Happy TV, Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic announced that works on landscaping the plateau in front of the Serbian Parliament were about to begin according to the project of the City of Belgrade.
„The project stipulates a replacement of the base and levelling of the slabs. The design solution retains the existent look of the plateau, with slight corrections of the geometry and the levelling of the plateau itself. Rehabilitation of the surface made of stone slabs covering an area of 4,500 m2 will be carried out by using the existent slabs, with prior processing and adding a certain amount of new slabs of the same quality and same mechanical properties, which look just like the original ones. New slabs, which are to be used for the replacement of the missing and broken ones were made with the consent of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments,” Vesic said.
The Deputy Mayor pointed out that the value of the works was RSD 80 million and that „Beograd-put“ public utility enterprise was hired for this job by the National Parliament, which is funding the project. The beginning of the works is expected in the coming days, depending on the weather conditions, and the deadline for the completion of the works is four months.
