NEW tolling SYSTEM: No more waiting
A new tolling system is being introduced that brings changes for drivers on the road. By the end of September, a common electronic toll system called „Open Balkans“ is expected to be introduced.
The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has announced that this system is in the testing phase, and it is valid for toll collection on the highways of the members of the Open Balkans Initiative, i.e. it is valid for Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia.
By modifying the collection system, drivers will be able to pay the toll with only one TAG without stopping or purchasing any other additional device.
It will be cheaper by 5%, and Bulgaria is expected to be another country in the system.
„By the end of September, we will start using one TAG between Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania. Any ETC user in any of these countries will be able to pay the toll with one TAG only, without stopping or buying any additional device or card in the countries where their vehicle is not registered,” said Minister Momirovic.
