Nedimovic: Number of trucks increased by 13% in Open Balkans

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia Branislav Nedimovic has said in Ohrid that from January 1 to the end of May, thanks to the Open Balkans initiative, the number of trucks that travelled between Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia increased by 13 percent.

Nedimovic told RTS TV that in the last five months, since the start of the implementation of the Open Balkans initiative, 6,400 trucks went from Serbia to North Macedonia and Albania, or arrived in Serbia from these countries.

„This shows that the Open Balkans initiative is already working,“ Nedimovic said.

He stated that out of those five months, the export of certain food products was not allowed for two months, adding that the results would have been better if that had not been the case.

The Summit of the Open Balkans initiative, launched by Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, is being held in Ohrid and it runs until Wednesday.
