IT IS BECOMING CLEAR TO THE STATE: WE and our OLD CARS are responsible for pollution
The Ministry of Environmental Protection, on the occasion of International Clean Air Day on 3 November, has called on citizens to abandon old habits and turn to high-quality engines, hybrid and electric, as well as walking and riding bicycles. The statement recalls that the World Health Organization’s reports show that the poor air quality across the world is the cause of deaths of about seven million people a year, while 6,000 citizens die every year in Serbia. The World Health Organization’s specialized agency for cancer research has classified diesel engine exhaust fumes as proven human carcinogen. The solution lies in the selective use of cars, innovative technologies, replacement of energy sources, investments in air treatment plants, circular economy, green building, said the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
