Businessmen are optimistic: They expect turnover growth in the next quarter

Many businessmen in Serbia expect the maintenance and growth of turnover in the next quarter, indicating that the availability and price of resources, in addition to the demand in the domestic market, are crucial for business improvement in that quarter.

According to the data of the survey of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce on the business activity of business entities conducted in July 2022, three-quarters of the surveyed businessmen expect the business climate to be the same or better in the third quarter of 2022. In addition, according to the results of the survey, 46 percent of the respondents realized an increase in turnover in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter of the current year

Surveyed business entities achieved average capacity utilization of 74 percent in the second quarter, and the highest utilization was achieved in the textile industry.

Furthermore, encouraging information is that 78 percent of surveyed companies have sufficient financial resources for optimal business financing, announced the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Resources remain a key condition for business improvement and greater capacity utilization, bearing in mind that as many as 60 percent of respondents indicated lower costs of resources as a key factor for more efficient business operations.

A total of 33 percent of respondents who exported in the second quarter of 2022 recorded an increase in exports compared to the previous quarter, by an average of 50 percent.

Employment is stable considering that 87 percent of respondents maintained or increased the number of employees in the second quarter, as well as that 94 percent of respondents do not expect a decrease in the number of employees in the next quarter either.
