BIZLife list „30 under 30“: Marija Zezelj, entertainment
At the age of seventeen Marija recorded her first song „Dance Like Nobody’s Watching“, which currently has over 16 million views on YouTube. She began her modelling career in 2015 and in the meantime wrote a novel „Moj Slatki Zivot“ (My Sweet Life). A little over a year ago she has started her music career by signing a contract with Universal Music Serbia and releasing the above mentioned first single. In February 2016 Marija did a cover of „Love Yourself“ with a friend, a hit song that is originally performed by Justin Bieber, and thus attracted the attention of Universal Music. At the beginning of last year’s March Universal Music suggested Marija collaboration with Austrian duo “Popmache.” What was supposed to be a trial recording turned into a final version of the first single and resulted in a modern hit song “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching.” In November 2017 Marija published the second single „Louder Than A Drum.” Marija was busy between the first two singles, as she was on the cover of the Cosmopolitan magazine, travelled to Coca Cola WOAH Summer House where she collaborated with the Polish duo “AbstrachujeTV” and Swedish “Roomie.” A day before releasing the single „Louder Than A Drum“ Marija had a live performance with young American singer Alex Aiono in Vienna, singing his song “Does It Feel Like Falling” at the showcase concert in the office of Universal Music Austria, in front of Austrian media. She presented herself to live audience for the first time at the opening ceremony of the “Future Park” festival in Belgrade, in December 2017. Soon after that had live performance of the second single „Louder Than A Drum“ with “Decija Filharmonija” at a gala concert in “Sava Centar.” Marija finished the year by winning 80th place on the list “The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2017”, released by “TC Candler” and “The Independent Critics.” Though at the very beginning of her music career, she has already received various awards: This year she is nominated for the prestigious Austrian award “Amadeus” and she won the R&B video of the year award at the first presentation of regional MTS Vision awards. Just over a year after releasing the single „Dance Like Nobody’s Watching“, Marija announced her third single „All The Girls“, which production is once again signed by “Popmache.”
