7,000 hospitality workers in Republika Srpska could lose their jobs
The representatives of the Association of Hospitality Workers HORECA have warned that, if there is no financial assistance from the competent institutions, hotels and hospitality facilities in Republika Srpska will be closed, which could leave seven thousand workers without jobs.
They stated that winter was coming leading to the closure of gardens, and thus an even bigger crisis in the hospitality and hotel industry, because of the measures introduced due to the coronavirus epidemic.
This Association requests from the competent institutions a preferential rate for the payment of contributions, the payment of one-time assistance to certain categories of employees, as well as the extension of the validity of tourist vouchers.
“If the authorities do not meet our needs, the facilities will be closed and at least seven thousand workers will be dismissed,” stressed Miso Kuzmanovic of the HORECA management.
