Zujovic, M.D.: At least 20,000 people have passed away from coronavirus in Serbia
Pulmonologist Dejan Zujovic has said that at least 20,000 people passed away in Serbia in the past year and a half from the consequences of covid-19.
In an interview with the Novi magazin weekly, Zujovic said that this pandemic, in terms of the lives lost, cost Serbia a city the size of Vrsac.
„I am not an optimist. We have lost the battle when it comes to vaccination. Due to inadequate action at certain times, we let the pandemic develop in its own way. We missed the chance because of our ignorance, arrogance, negligence and looking only at our own interests,“ the pulmonologist pointed out.
Zujovic said that vaccination in Serbia failed because of the „uncontrolled behavior“ of antivaxers, as well as because of the fact that the vaccination process was part of the political marketing of president Aleksandar Vucic.
