Vucic: Electricity for businesses cannot increase by 70 percent, it would drive out investors
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has denied media reports that electricity for businesses will increase in price by 70 percent, pointing out that electricity prices „at some point“ will increase between eight and 10 percent, because, as he said, otherwise we would have driven out foreign investors.
In his guest appearance on Pink TV, Vucic said that citizens „have not yet actually experienced the energy crisis“, but that they would experience it.
He also added that the state had taken over everything „on its back“, because „it has huge expenditures for energy and it pays huge money for energy products“.
Demostat wrote that „the current price of electricity will not be valid for long“ and that „in the upcoming period, a new price will be even more expensive for both the economy and households“.
Referring to the information from the sources close to the Serbian government, Demostat states that the goal of the authorities is to increase the price of electricity for the economy in stages in the total amount of 70 percent.
