Vesic: The construction of the subway will begin at the end of 2021
The construction of Belgrade subway will begin in December 2021, and the financial construction has been closed, the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic stated.
He added that the Belgrade subway project is worth EUR 4 billion, the first line being EUR 1.8 billion and the second line being EUR 2.2 billion, „Beoinfo“ reports.
Vesic pointed out for „Happy“ TV station that the French „Alstom“ will work on electromechanics, trains, coaches, rails, complete electric power supply, i.e. the equipment of the subway itself.
The construction works will be done by Power China, and 70 percent of the value refers to the works of the Chinese company.
The French Government has provided financing for the part of the work that „Alstom“ is doing, while the Chinese Government will secure funding together with the Power China company for the other part of the work, Vesic said.
