Vesic announces how much Belgrade earned for 2022 New Year’s Eve
Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic has stated that, according to police estimates, about 100,000 people passed through the central city streets during the New Year’s Eve, most of them during the New Year’s concert – about 50,000 people.
„Everything went well without any incidents. Our estimate is that there are about 100,000 tourists in Belgrade and that Belgrade earned between 90 and 100 million euros during the New Year’s holidays,“ Vesic told Pink TV, Beoinfo reported.
He said that most of the tourists had come from the region, but there were also many of them from Turkey, Bulgaria, Russia and Arab countries, adding that the Community Service Police controlled the city and that there was a low, negligible number of reports for such a large number of people.
Vesic announced that the ice rinks at Trg republike would be open on Christmas and throughout February.
