Serbia gets a new law on compulsory insurance?
Serbia should get a new Law on Compulsory Insurance, and the adoption of new legislation that would be in line with European standards is necessary, which is something that the insurers and the National Bank of Serbia, as well as the Ministry of Finance agree on.
The Ministry of Finance and the National Bank of Serbia are working on drafting the new Law on Compulsory Traffic Insurance, NBS previously said. For this reason, a joint task force was formed, which also includes other relevant state institutions, and which is drafting the new Law on Compulsory Traffic Insurance.
The Association of Serbian Insurers, which represents the interests of insurance companies in the task force, believes that the new Law should also regulate the relations between the insurer and all the external channels of sale of automobile liability insurance policies, as well as technical inspections and it emphasizes that the payment of damages must not be compromised.
