Sabac Free Zone among the BEST in the world
The Sabac Free Zone is once again on the list of the world’s best, by choice of the prestigious Financial Times magazine. Sabac received this recognition for the third year in a row, and the award was mostly contributed by the expansion of territory by more than 100 hectares. Since its foundation a decade ago, when it occupied a space of 35 hectares, the Sabac Free Zone has increased its area more than ten times. Companies that work there are mainly manufacturing parts and components for the automotive industry. „What attracted our Italian partners is that within the Free Zone, we have lots of benefits, for VAT, the very customs procedure, and advantages when goods are exported to the EU, which is very important for us,“ Sasa Stosic, Production director at Sabac based „ODS Technology“ says. There are ten companies doing business in the Free Zone regime, employing more than four thousand workers. The training centre in Sabac has also recently started operating, which to a great extent eases the process of finding a skilled workforce. The unemployment rate in Sabac has been decreased by 50 percent in 5 years. Men under the age of thirty can find a job without major difficulties.
