RENOWNED BAKERY in Belgrade closed after 62 years
One of the oldest bakeries in Belgrade, the Kuvani djevrek bakery, held in high esteem by residents of Belgrade, especially those who live in Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra street and its vicinity, was closed on October 1 this year.
According to a statement posted on the bakery’s door, the reason for closing is the retirement of the owner.
The bakery was famous for its specialty, boiled bagels, but also for the shape of the bagel hanging above the entrance to the bakery, which also became a symbol of this street.
„The bakery was founded back in 1959, and it was traditionally known for its boiled bagels. We offer our customers a wide range of pastry and confectionery,“ the bakery’s Facebook description says.
