Purchase price of raspberry can “destroy” this year’s harvest
Initial purchase price of raspberries in Serbia will be around RSD100 this year, and raspberry producers reply that they will not harvest it as there is no profit margin.
Even though not much time has left until the beginning of harvest, we have no idea what will be the purchase price.
According to Miodrag Bogdanovic, President of Ivanjica based Raspberry Producers’ Association “Vilamet”, that is very bad.
He points out that state should compensate damage to raspberry producers that hail has caused. Three years ago damage amounted to RSD660 million in the region of Ivanjica, yet producers received only two percent as compensation which, as they evaluate, is disgraceful.
