French musician of Spanish origin Manu Chao, who fights for environmental protection as an activist, visited barricades in Topli Do, where locals fight against the construction of small hydropower plants. Between two concerts, the one in Nis and the next one to be held in Sofia, the well-known musician found time for the inhabitants of Topli Do, and the activists of the initiative Let’s Defend the Rivers of Stara Planina informed him at the concert in Nis about the problems of the locals related to the intention of an investor to build a small hydropower plant, the Juzne vesti portal reports. „I am fascinated by nature. The problem with water and rivers does not exist only in Serbia, it has become a global issue. I urge the locals and activists to persevere in their fight,“ said the musician.
