
Inflation is not slowing down – it reached 12.8% in July, price of food increased by 20%
Consumer prices in July 2022, compared to the same month of the previous year, are higher by 12.8 percent, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia announced.
On a year-on-year basis, food increased in price by 20.3 percent in July. Cereals, bread, meat, milk, eggs, oil – all this has increased in price by more than 20 percent in the last year, statistical data show.
Fruits increased in price by 10.6 percent, and vegetables by 18.8 percent.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased in price by 7.2 percent, clothing and footwear by 5.5 percent and household and maintenance appliances by 12.1 percent.
Housing rent increased by 20 percent and solid fuels are 35 percent more expensive.
Statistically, fuel has increased in price by 28 percent compared to last year’s July.
Restaurants and cafes increased their prices by 13.5 percent.
Compared to last July, not a single service or product has become cheaper.
