Jorgovanka Tabaković, inflacija

Inflation continues to rise – 9.6% in April

Inflation in Serbia has continued to rise under the pressure of external factors and it reached 9.6 percent year-on-year in April, said Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Jorgovanka Tabakovic.

Presenting the Inflation Report, Tabakovic said the relative stability of the exchange rate was maintained.

She added that the annual growth was relatively dynamic and amounted to 4.3 percent thanks to, among other things, investments and a high rate of export growth of the mining sector.

Due to the negative effects of the conflict in Ukraine, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) revised the projection of gross domestic product (GDP) growth this year, so it will range from 3.5 percent to 4.5 percent, which is 0.5 percentage points lower than expected in February.
