Highest PROPERTY TAX was paid by citizen of Belgrade – EUR 43,000

The highest property tax for this year was paid by a citizen of Belgrade who owns almost 6,000 square meters of houses, apartments, garages and development land.

His tax return was exactly RSD 5,106,816, which is just over EUR 43,000, reports the Blic daily.

This taxpayer paid the tax on four bases – he paid RSD 151,104 for a total of 288 square meters of apartments, while he paid a tax of RSD 4,022,095 for the houses covering an area of 1,278 square meters.

The same taxpayer paid a little more than RSD 10,000 in taxes for a garage, as well as almost a million dinars for the development land covering an area of 4,382 square meters, reports the Blic daily noting that the data were confirmed by the Secretariat for Public Revenues.

Last year, the highest tax paid in Belgrade was EUR 67,000. The taxpayer owned about 3,500 square meters of apartments and houses and more than 340 square meters of garages.

Namely, property tax is paid quarterly, within 45 days from the day of the beginning of the quarter, so installments are due around the 15th day of the months of February, May, August and November.

For each day of delay in the payment of property tax, the taxpayer pays default interest, which currently amounts to 9.25 percent per year.

A fine of RSD 5,000 is stipulated for evading the payment of property tax.

Namely, taxpayers who wish to do so can pay the full amount of the annual tax at once, for example at the beginning of the year, and in that case they do not have to pay attention to quarterly deadlines later.
