Elixir Group plans to build factory in Egypt
The local company Elixir Group has agreed on co-operation with Egypt’s leading company for phosphate ore exploitation and exploration Misr Phosphate Company (MPCO), which includes joint activities ranging from the exploitation of new ore fields in the Red Sea area, through the exchange of knowledge and technologies to the construction of a joint plant in Egypt.
This was confirmed by the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two companies in the Elixir Group in Novi Sad.
„At the meeting with Egyptian partners, we agreed on several joint ventures. Our institutes will do enrichment and purification of phosphorous rock, because they have extensive experience in this, in order to raise the quality of Egyptian phosphate,“ said Stanko Popovic, the owner of the Elixir Group.
We will also be doing a feasibility study on the construction of a joint phosphoric acid plant in Egypt based on Elixir’s technology. That would be a joint venture in Egypt, Popovic added.
A closer connection of Elixir with the Egyptian national mining company, according to him, will ensure a stable supply for our market and farmers in the long term.
