Due to Pristina’s 100% we have lost EUR30 million (for the time being)

The Minister of Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic has stated that, ever since the Kosovo authorities have imposed an import tax of 100 percent on goods from Serbia, the Serbian economy has recorded a decrease in product placement by EUR30 million, when compared to the year before.

He has stated with “Prva” TV station that since November 21st, when new measures were introduced, until December 11th, when they did calculations for the last time, Serbia’s export of merchandize to Kosovo was completely suspended, not including some international brands that are exempt from such measures.

While talking about the upcoming meeting between Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, during which they will talk about her proposal to terminate import taxes and that CEFTA agreement includes Kosovo with “an asterisk” instead of UNMIK’s signature”, Ljajic has said that ongoing crisis should be solved first.
