BIZLife „30 under 30“: Aleksandra Mijatovic, Marketing Manager, PIK Oplenac Winery

Aleksandra was born in Belgrade, where she graduated from the School of Design and later the ITS College of Information Technologies, Department of Computer Multimedia. Since 2016, she has been working in PIK Oplenac Winery, where she started as a business secretary, then worked as a graphic designer, and since June 2017 she has been the marketing manager of this company.

Is there anything you have had to give up in order to get where you are now?

I have given up on perfectionism and the fear of failure. I am engaged in a dynamic business in which each project is a different story, so I had to come to terms with the fact that not everything will always go as planned and that sometimes I have to improvise.

Has success reached you or have you achieved success?

Both, in a way. Luck can take us to a certain point, and the rest entirely depends on us, the amount of effort we make each day and the ability to learn from our mistakes. We must recognize an opportunity, and even more importantly, persevere in everything that follows.

What is the most important lesson you have learned in your work so far?

Good things do not come easily. Every new challenge should be readily accepted, one should be persistent and the effort will pay off. Furthermore, I believe that in every job, the most important thing is to keep up with the trends and constantly learn in order to achieve goals.

Favourite subject at school?

Arts, and in further education everything that had to do with drawing.

Your first job?

Business Secretary, PIK Oplenac Winery (invoicing, warehouse management, etc.).

Business role model?

Andrey Semikin, the owner of the PIK Oplenac Winery.

A song as a motto?
