Administration of St. Sava Temple: Entry into Temple is not CHARGED to anyone
The administration of St. Sava Temple in Belgrade has denied allegations by some media that it charges entry to the temple. On the temple’s official website, the administration stated that “entry is not charged to anyone”.
In a statement, it says that „tourist groups from abroad coming through tourist agencies are not charged entry into the temple, but the professional guidance services, i.e. the services of the guides hired and supervised by the Temple Administration“.
The administration added that this was done everywhere in the world in religious buildings that had a special spiritual and cultural significance. Entry for guided tours only According to a notice posted in September last year on the website of St. Sava Temple, it was announced that from October 1, entry will be charged for organized groups that come with tourist guides.
In order for the guides to talk within the temple, both about the Orthodox religion and about the architecture and mosaic of St. Sava Temple, they will have to pay the entrance fee. In fact, the visitors themselves would have to pay money in advance to hear this story inside the Temple, whether it was told by their guides, or by anyone of the Temple’s employees. Namely, the guides can tell the story in front of the Temple and then let the visitors enter for free.
