A sing of relief for Serbian workers in Slovenia
Statistics shows that 3,500 Serbian citizens worked in Slovenia from January 1st until the end of this year’s September, and it is expected that there will a total of 4,000 by the end of the year. Governments of Serbia and Slovenia have signed a protocol today that should make their lives easier.
“This Protocol represents continuation of cooperation that began in July, when our Assembly ratified the Agreement on the Employment of Serbian Citizens in Slovenia, signed by the two countries. With that Agreement we have established basis for our National Employment Services to sign yet another technical agreement and we have also enabled exchange of data when it comes to employment and migration of employees,“ Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic has stated.
According to him, a large number of Serbian citizens are working in Slovenia, and with this agreement Serbia wants to protect their rights and allow them to work in accordance with Slovenian laws.
„We wanted to fully protect our workers in that country with the Agreement on the Employment of Serbian Citizens in Slovenia. On the other hand, many Slovenian citizens and investors come to Serbia and Slovenia also wants to protect their rights,“ Djordjevic has said.
