Yura denies moving to Albania
The company Yura has denied that it will move part of its production from Leskovac to Albania and lay off workers.
According to Yura’s official statement for the Prva TV station, there will be no layoffs in Yura and plans to relocate part of the production to Albania do not exist.
Instead of laying off workers, Leskovac based Yura is building a new facility and will employ additional 700 workers, B92 web portal reports.
Mayor of Leskovac Goran Cvetanovic has said that a contract with Yura stipulates this South Korean company has an obligation to retain all employees by 2021.
„By the end of the year 200 additional workers will be employed in Yura’s existing plants and 750 more will be employed in the fourth plant,“ Cvetanovic has said.
Yura has plants in Raca and Nis. Local portal “Jugmedija” has announced that Jura will move a part of its production to Albania.
