Wizz Air „not affected“ by donation of an airport
Hungarian low-cost airline Wiz Air, following donation of „Konstantin Veliki” Airport to state, claims it will adapt to the new situation, will continue with flights from Nis and wants to strengthen its position in Central and Eastern European market.
According to web portal Flyfromnis.com, Hungarians are the first company to make an official statement following the “airport affair” that shook Nis based as well as national public for months. Wizz Air does not want to comment the donation, but they say they have always been “adaptable to changes on the demanding market, by planning ahead and gaining greater influence.”
The company wishes to continue with strengthening of its market position, as the leading low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe. This would continue the cooperation between the company Wizz Air and Nis airport, and Hungarians are the first low-cost carrier to arrive in Nis in 2015 and introduce flights to Malmo and Basel. Currently they have flights to Basel, Dortmund, Malmo and Memingen from Nis, while flights to Eindhoven have been suspended. They announced the launch of Nis-Vienna route for November.
