Patriarch Pavle gets monument in the centre of Moscow
A monument to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle will be erected in the centre of Moscow, the Sputnik portal has learned.
The monument will be placed on the plateau in front of the Temple of Peter and Paul, in the courtyard of the Serbian Orthodox Church, near the Kremlin.
The memorial to the 44th Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church is expected to be unveiled by the end of this year, and then, next to it, a monument to Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II will be erected.
Monuments to the Serbian and Russian patriarchs will be created on the initiative of doctor of theology, Bishop Antonio Pantelic, the last bishop ordained by Patriarch Pavle, who has been managing the Serbian Orthodox Church Representation in Moscow for almost two decades.
According to Bishop Anthonije of Moravia, a monument to Patriarch Pavle is being created by a Russian sculptor.
Part of the monument is made in Russia, and part in Ukraine, so if the epidemiological situation allows it, the monument will be unveiled by the end of this year.
