NBS taking over portion of jurisdictions of the Tax Administration
The National Bank of Serbia will take over portion of jurisdictions of the Tax Administration as of January 1st of the following year. Jurisdictions in question refer to issuance and requisition of authorities for exchange operations and control of exchange and foreign exchange operations. This has been stipulated in amendments of the Law on the National Bank of Serbia adopted by the Serbian Assembly. NBS has announced that it will take over around 60 employees who conduct those jobs in the Tax Administration as of January 1st.
Amendments of the Law also stipulate cancellation of the Administration for Supervision of Financial Institutions as an individual organizational unit within the National Bank, and employees should continue conducting jobs that they currently do.
Assembly has also adopted amendments of the Companies Law, as well as amendments of the Law on Bankruptcy.
Amendments of the Law on the National Bank of Serbia and Companies Law will come into force on the following day from the day of announcement in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia. The first article of amendments of the Law on the National Bank of Serbia that refers to takeover of portion of jurisdictions of the Tax Administration will come into force as of January 1st.
