Minister announcing MANDATORY preschool education for THREE-YEAR-OLDS
The Minister of Education Mladen Sarcevic has reiterated that one of next year’s priorities will be mandatory preschool education for children from three to six years of age. He has said that World Bank’s loan of EUR 50 million is already being used for that, and that local self-governments and foundations are involved as well. Sarcevic has also announced that in January he will present a new Education Strategy until 2030 which, as he has explained, will work at two levels – an education strategy and a strategy for higher education and science. Changes in the „curriculum“ for the third and the seventh grade of elementary school will continue, while the third grade of grammar school will undergo reform as well.
