Budget for 2019 adopted

The Serbian Parliament has adopted a budget for 2019, which foresees revenues of RSD1,246.2 billion and expenditures of RSD1,269.1 billion, thus deficit will be RSD22.9 billion, which is 0.4 percent of the expected gross domestic product (GDP) .

The budget is projected on the basis of estimates that next year’s GDP growth will be 3.5 percent, and that inflation will be 2.3 percent.

The budget allocates money to increase wages in the public sector from seven to 12 percent, thus next year’s total wage fund at all levels of the government will be RSD33 billion higher than this year, while expenditures from the budget and the Pension and Disability Fund of the Republic of Serbia for pensions will be RSD35 billion higher.

RSD165.5 billion are to be allocated for capital investments, which is 30 percent more than in this year.
