The Politika daily: A new FEE to be added to gas, fuel and electricity bills as of August
Consumers of gas, electricity and fuel in Serbia can expect a new price increase as of August, due to implementation of the new levy that will improve energy efficiency, the „Politika“ daily newspaper reports. Newspaper states that citizens will pay RSD 0.15 for one cubic metre of gas or one litre of fuel consumed, while for one kilowatt-hour of electricity they will pay RSD 0,015. Money from that levy will be used for replacement of doors and windows in buildings, as well as for thermal isolation, as well as for investment in heating boilers. The Public Enterprise Srbijagas has announced that it has informed its consumers the price increase will start with the gas bills for July, and that the fee will be adjusted once a year. The electricity bills in July will also have an increase, because the Law on Fees for the Use of Public Goods foresees payment of this new fee by everyone who consumes electricity. Furthermore, drivers will have to pay this fee for every litre of gasoline, diesel or car gas consumed. The „Politika“ daily newspaper has reported that all this money will not go to Srbijagas, EPS or petroleum companies, but directly to state budget, from where it should be used for improvement of energy efficiency.
